Stand very still, and listen. This scarf reproduces in luminous, detail an oil painting of extraordinary atmospheric power: a mature English woodland in the turn of autumn, anchored by the massive silver-grey trunk of an ancient beech tree that dominates the composition with quiet authority. Around it, oaks and elms are caught mid-change their canopies shifting from deep summer teal to the first warm golds and russets of the season, lit from behind by a dramatic sky of billowing cream and grey cumulus. In the foreground, a weathered tree stump and scattered fallen leaves; in the distance, a glimpse of light between the trunks where the wood opens into open parkland. The whole painting is rendered in the loose, confident brushwork of the mid-century British landscape tradition. Framed in a warm teal border. Framed in a deep slate green border.
