Beatrix Silk Scarf

Where knowledge lives in stone. This scarf is a single, deeply atmospheric photograph of one of England's great collegiate courts. The warm amber limestone of a Gothic chapel with its ornate carved spire and rose window meeting the red brick and stone-dressed Tudor wings of an ancient college, a manicured emerald lawn at their feet and a dramatic steel-blue sky above. The quality of light is extraordinary: that particular golden late-afternoon glow that falls on old English stone and makes it look as though it has been illuminated from within. A solitary lamp, a cypress tree, and the faintest suggestion of a bench complete the scene.
