As though a Dutch Golden Age master walked into Versailles and painted what he found there. This scarf is a breathtaking collage of two worlds perfectly joined a monumental floral and fruit still life of the highest Baroque tradition, rendered in extraordinary botanical detail, set against the gilded corner of a palace room: a soaring gold rococo cornice, silk-hung walls in the most luminous washes of powder blue and silver-grey, and a gold-framed doorway opening into the beyond. The bouquet itself is a tour de force a perfect white garden rose at its heart, surrounded by a cobalt iris, a silver-streaked tulip in graphite and cream, white convolvulus, burnt orange dahlias, steel-blue delphiniums, and a cloud of small white daisies, the whole arrangement spilling downward into a heavy bunch of pale celadon grapes. Every petal, every tendril, every grape is painted with the obsessive precision of the 17th century botanical masters.
